About Alicia Hogan
Registered Massage Therapist
A love of literature led me to complete an Honours BA in English at the University of Toronto and to pursue a career in the Canadian book publishing industry. Seeking greater fulfilment from my work, I began to study Massage Therapy at the respected Sutherland Chan School of Massage Therapy in Toronto, becoming registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario in 1999. For over two decades I have cultivated a practice in Kensington Market that strives to be professional, inclusive, and welcoming. My clientele range from 8 to 85 years of age and span the socio-economic, cultural, and gender-diverse spectrums. I aim to support my clients by addressing - both directly and indirectly - the many issues that an individual may present with in any given session. Treatment may focus on issues arising from muscle injury and strain, sports and exercise, pregnancy, motor vehicle accident, repetitive strain injuries, anxiety, and life. Compassion, a commitment to open communication, an adaptable approach to clients’ needs, and respect for client confidentiality, are tenets of my practice.
I am an ardent believer in community service and volunteer as Co-chair of George Herman House, a transitional residence in Toronto for women with mental health diagnoses. I am currently a board member of the Brock Township Public Library. I am the co-facilitator of pflag North Durham and a member of the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health.
